Hello Occam.fi community! Our first IDO partners, deFIRE, will soon be opening the KYC and whitelisting process for their fundraising round, enabling successful applicants to participate in the cWAP IDO on the OccamRazer launchpad.
The KYC and whitelisting process opens at 16:00 CET on the 17th May 2021, but in this short post we will share the major steps required to navigate this process successfully. This guide should help you have all of the documents at hand so you can navigate the KYC process and whitelist your Ethereum address as seamlessly as possible.
Let’s discover the steps below.
1. Verify your email
Opening the SumSub KYC link will first bring you to an email verification page. You must use a real email that you have access to — you will be asked to enter a confirmation code.
2. Choose how to verify your ID
Next, SumSub will ask you to choose a valid form of ID to provide. Note that all forms of ID must feature your photograph, and they must be government-issued and in date. Do not send copies of your ID to deFIRE or Occam.fi if you encounter any problems, but do let us know your issue.
3. Facial recognition
SumSub now needs to verify that the person applying for KYC is the same as the person represented on the form of ID. Therefore, you must pass facial recognition. SumSub will prompt you to launch facial recognition either on your desktop device, or switch to mobile if you would prefer. Ensure you have adequate lighting and you are not wearing anything that obscures your image.
4. Enter your personal data and apply to whitelist your ETH address
Once SumSub is happy that your face and ID match, you will be prompted to provide some basic personal details as a last step of verification. It is at this stage that you must provide the Ethereum wallet address from which you will participate in the IDO. The wallet address must match the wallet you try and participate with. Likewise, it must have 75 OCC staked from the address at the time of the IDO sale.
5. Verify your phone number
One of the last pieces of information with SumSub requires is a valid mobile phone number. To proceed, enter your country code and phone number, and then confirm the SMS verification code you are sent.
6. Proof of address
Lastly, you will be required to provide a proof of address. This could be a recent utility bill, bank statement, or similar. See the screenshot above for the acceptable proof of address types.
7. Check your information
Before you finish, SumSub will give you a moment to ensure all of the information is correct and accurate. Please double-check your information, there is no way to change it after it has been submitted.
8. Await verification
Finally, SumSub will confirm that it has received your application and will check your data. The separate sections will show as approved as and when SumSub have verified them successfully.
How will I know if I have been approved for KYC?
So, you have completed KYC and now you are waiting to be approved. Successful applicants will receive the following email:
“Dear applicant,
You have successfully passed the OccamFi IDOs KYC for deFIRE using the SumSub solution.
Thank you for your time.
Note that the Ethereum address you have provided will be the one you must use during the deFIRE IDO (if you are whitelisted) and that is the Ethereum address where you must have staked 75 OCC from. The deFIRE IDO begins on May 21, 2021 at 4:00PM CET.

Once you receive this email, you have successfully been approved for KYC. For participation in the deFIRE IDO, you may now participate as long as you also have 75 OCC staked from the correct whitelisted wallet address.
How will I know if I have been whitelisted?
Whitelisting is a separate requirement, done at the same time as the KYC approval, which requires verification of your Ethereum address. Once you have passed the KYC process described above, we will add you to the whitelisting process. Once KYC is verified, we will send you a follow-up email confirming that your ETH address is whitelisted (if you are chosen), and given the fact that you successfully passed the KYC process, you will be able to participate in the IDO.
